Migrating Bird

Crane in Flight design by Kunihiko Kasahara
from 'Origami Omnibus'

I folded this flying crane and posted it on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/charliegami) as part of the #origamimigration campaign currently being run by the WWF. Find out more here:

"Six million birds visit Doñana National Park in Spain every year. They rely on its vast wetland to survive their epic journey across Europe, but this treasured World Heritage site is at risk. By 1 December, we need to convince the Spanish government to cancel the river dredging plans that are threatening Doñana."

Here is a small selection of birds I have folded and posted previously;

Puppy Love

These two puppies in love were made as my friends Finn and Magda's wedding gift. The photo is not great quality as it was taken on my mobile, but it gives the idea. Since I often take photos of origami on my phone, charliegami now has a Instagram account. Just search "charliegami" on instagram  and you should find me!

Le Cochonnet (Little Pig)

This little pig is called "Le Cochonnet", which is Jersey French for 'Little Pig' or 'Piglet'. He is made from a Jersey pound note (yup, Jersey still has pound notes!). I grew up in Jersey and from the age of 15-18 lived in a housed called "Le Cochonnet" (and which I visit often as my mum still lives there), hence the inspiration to make a Pig from the jersey money! Jersey is a small island (45 square miles) which is part of the Channel Islands to the South of England and off the West coast of Normandy. It's more famous for cows then pigs.
